Tankopolis Boss Fight
Tankopolis was a project involving five developers. The level seen below was a bonus boss level for the game created and designed solely by me (the art was done by James Beegle, however). The engine was written over the course of two months and the level was designed and coded over a separate two months.
In this level, the main character, Tankopolis, must destroy three Sentinel bosses and try to protect as many citizens as possible. Bullets can hit each other and bounce off the ground and ceilings. Tankopolis's health can be found at the bottom and the respective boss health can be found on the right. The citizen count is displayed in the bottom left. When Tankopolis receives too much damage, the city on the back of the tank downgrades. The player wins when all three tanks on the right die or loses when either all citizens have died or Tankopolis, himself, dies.
