Story/Gameplay
Outside one of the large castles in Etheria, hordes of minions plan to swarm the community from all directions. All heroes are called to defend the five crystals located in the area. Enemies swarm out of the caves in the woods, infiltrate the castle from within, wreak havoc in the theater from backstage, storm the land by boat, and emerge from the houses in order to destroy each crystal.
Design Goals
- Create a dynamic, re-playable level by unlocking new sections of the map in random order
- Ensure each section has a unique theme and varying combat spaces that take advantage of the different hero classes
- Mimic the feel and gameplay of official Dungeon Defenders maps
- Create interesting chokepoints for mob pathing, but also allow players to place defensive towers that take advantage of the obvious critical path
